Straight answers about booking, delivery, loading, pickup, trade accounts and WINZ quotes.

How long can I keep the skip?

Choose seven day or fourteen day hire. For casual customers, extra hire is $7 per bin per calendar day after the included period until pickup is requested. Weekends and public holidays count.

Is pickup automatic?

No. When the bin is accessible, not over height and ready, you can request pickup from the next operating day, subject to capacity and confirmation.

Where do you deliver?

Approved addresses across Christchurch and Selwyn between the Waimakariri and Rakaia Rivers. Banks Peninsula is excluded. Four delivery bands apply.

Can you deliver the next business day?

Order before 5pm for next business day delivery, subject to availability. This is not a guarantee.

What happens if the bin is overweight?

Excess weight is charged at $0.40/kg for general or mixed waste, $0.15/kg for green waste and $0.10/kg for clean hardfill, with no minimum excess weight charge.

Can I add tyres?

Yes, if declared during booking and able to fit safely. Car tyres are $30, four wheel drive or truck tyres $60 and tractor tyres $250. Undeclared tyres are charged at double these rates.

What cannot go in any bin?

Asbestos, liquids, explosives, toxic, dangerous, hazardous or noxious material, and fire or burning material are never permitted.

Can the bin go on the road?

Only where lawful. You must arrange and pay for any required road or council permit before delivery.

What if access is blocked?

Failed delivery or pickup can incur a $150 charge. Waiting time is $25 per ten minutes. Tell us about gates, narrow access, overhead obstructions and ground conditions in advance.

How do WINZ quotes work?

The service is a 9m3 general waste skip for seven days with a 1,200kg allowance, plus any address based delivery surcharge. Formal quotes are valid for fourteen days.

How do trade accounts work?

Businesses can apply for manual approval and a positive credit limit. Approved customers can book through the trade portal and are billed under the agreed monthly process.

Can I change my delivery date or cancel?

Date changes are subject to capacity. Cancellations at least 48 hours before delivery receive a full refund, within 48 hours receive 50%, and on delivery day receive no refund, subject to statutory rights.

What size skip bin do I need?

Start with the waste type. General waste skips come in 3m³, 7.5m³ and 9m³ sizes; green waste skips in 7.5m³ and 9m³. Clean hardfill uses the 3m³ bin. Compare each product’s capacity and included weight before booking.

What affects the cost of skip hire?

The waste type, bin size, hire period and delivery address affect the booking price. Extra hire, excess weight and declared extras can add charges. Check the selected product and final delivery charge before paying.

Can I put soil or concrete in a general waste skip?

No. Use the 3m³ clean hardfill skip for eligible soil, stone, bricks and concrete. Keep general rubbish, timber, plastics and metals out of the hardfill load.

Can flax and cabbage trees go in a green waste skip?

No. Flax, toetoe, cabbage trees and long grasses must go as general waste. Keep soil and household rubbish out of a green waste skip too.

Do you deliver throughout Canterbury?
